The Gospel!!!
The gospel, what is it? The gospel is the good news and the only hope for mankind. You might ask, “why is it the only hope?” Well there will come a day in which humankind will be judged according to God, Who is the judge of the Earth, Who judges in righteousness. We will be judged according to our actions whether they are good or bad. You might say to yourself, “that presents no problem for me because I'm a good person, and if I live a good life, then I have no need to worry about my eternal destination. If you are truly good indeed, then this would present no problem, but only God is good. In order to be a good person you have to be a perfect person, and since no man is perfect, God Who is perfect is the only one Who is good. You might ask “how is this so? I have never murdered anyone or stolen anything and have lived my life to the best of my ability.” Well, in this shows the error of mankind. In order to be a good person in and of yourself, you have to be a good person from the start of your life, to the end of your life. At anytime, if someone makes a mistake or transgresses the law, they cut off their ability to be good or perfect. For example, if you have a car and get in an accident, then your car ceases to be accident free. After the accident, no matter how well you drive your car, will in any way get rid of the fact that your car is no longer accident free. All the best driving in the world will never undo that accident that already took place. The same reality exist in the human condition.
If at any time we transgress the law of God, we cease from being able to be perfect, and are made to be sinners. God has laid out a law that whosoever can obey the law, then that man can live by the law. Unfortunately we are unable to keep the law because the first man in history transgressed the law of God. God told this man that if he were to disobey his commands that his actions would lead to his own death. When man disobeyed God, he died spiritually the instant in which he disobeyed and started to die physically as well. Through this man's transgression, sin entered the world and because of sin, death entered the world. Because of the first man's transgression we inherit his very nature, a nature which is in opposition to the law of God. We are all brought into this world spiritually dead and need to be born again of the Spirit of God to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Now every man that is a sinner experiences death spiritually and physically. We all know that we will not live forever and our bodies will eventually die, this is a result of sin. So if we try to live by God's moral law and at any time fail to keep those commandments, then we can never live by trying to keep the law; we are still found to be under death. This concludes that the law of God shows us that we are sinners, that our very nature is in opposition to God's command. This is the purpose of God's law, to shows us that we are inherently evil and that lust dwells in us. So you might not believe in any certain specific god(s) or God but you try to live a “good” life and you kind of have a moral code by which you live by. I think that most people will agree that loving your neighbor as yourself is the basics of their moral code. Most people sort of reason this out, that they try to be nice to others. Even if we make laws for ourselves instead of using the law of God, we are found also to be hypocrites. Would you want someone lying to you, or stealing your belongings, or gossiping about you? Do you want your enemies to hate you or love you? Do you want someone to slander your name or commit adultery against you? Would you like it if someone murdered you? I would venture to say that no one would want these things to happen to themselves, even if they did not care about some of the actions listed above. So if you agree that you would not want these things to happen to yourself, and judge the people that commit these things against you to be in the wrong, if you have committed these actions at any time, then you judge yourself also to be sinful.
So how can we escape this nature of sin? As stated before only God is good, and those that desire to live and escape sin must take on the nature of God. But as mentioned before, once a car has an accident, it will never be accident free. So if we were to make one mistake, then live a perfect life, we are still found to be sinners. So who can save us from death and sin? What is impossible for man is not impossible for God, and fortunately God allows sacrifice for sins, that one man can pay for the sins of another. It could be compared to one man paying bail to get someone out of jail, or someone paying the debt of another man. It is also logical to conclude that a man with debt cannot help himself if he has no money; debt is found to be his master. Neither can a man who is a sinner pay for sin, and sin is found to be his master. To our benefit, God Who is perfect, is without sin and cannot sin because it is against His very nature. What man can not do is pay for sin because he is a sinner, but God is able to pay for sin by coming in the flesh and paying for it at the cross. God, Who is eternal, became man, so that he might pay for ours sins, that we might not die but have everlasting life. We know this One to be Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, that takes away the sins of the world!!! He died on our behalf, that the wrath of God we deserved being sinners, could fall upon Jesus, instead of us. Because Jesus Christ did not sin, having the perfect nature of God, death could not have power over Him, and he was raised from the dead by the power of God.
Now in the kingdom of God there is no sin, because it has the very nature of God, so that those sinning can not enter in to the kingdom of God, which includes heaven. Those that will trust in the Lord, Who died and paid for their sin, will be forgiven and their sins will be paid for by Jesus Christ by the work that He did on the cross. Trusting and believing on Jesus Christ is not just an acknowledgement that He exist and wanting the forgiveness of sins, but it also includes repenting of the very nature by which we were under death, that we might truly put away sin, that it has dominion of us no more. Now we do not have freedom over sin by our works as already mentioned, but we must be born again to enter into the Kingdom of God. Once we truly believe into Jesus Christ we get to be born again of the Spirit and we can be conformed into God's likeness, becoming the children of God. So just like we had the sinful nature through the first man, we will have the nature of righteousness through Christ. So be not deceived into thinking that you can still live the same life that you had, in sin, after becoming a born again Christian! Those who trust in the Lord will be a completely different person than who they were before they knew the Lord. Before, they would be servants of sin, where afterwards they would become servants of righteousness through the Lord.
This is a lot to take in, and there is a ton of info that could still be mentioned. So if you want to be born again, you must trust/believe in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins. Because of this you will receive the Spirit of God, Who will dwell and remain in your body and help you in your walk with God and Christ!!! Also get a Bible and start reading!!! Then also get baptized and find a group of Christians who love God and properly teach the things in the Bible. Also feel free to contact me if you want to talk about the Lord or know more about being a Christian. It is a life changing experience, and may the Lord bless you guys and keep you!!!
